Dear UMCS Family,
It has been an amazing experience getting to know you and your child(ren) this year! I feel fortunate to be in such a supportive community. With your help, UMCS has been busy living its mission to provide quality Montessori education that develops creative and compassionate urban citizens.
At our Gratitude Celebration, students shared their literary and performing arts skills with the community for the first time. They’ve expanded their creative capacities by participating in a school-wide design thinking initiative to re-imagine their classroom libraries. In class meetings, they practice problem solving skills and making good choices. All day long, they exercise their compassion muscles at peace tables, in classrooms and on the playground. It’s moving to see these exciting activities as our school continues to evolve!
Funds raised in this campaign cover operating expenses at UMCS; they help fund professional development for teachers, Montessori materials, and the visual and performing arts.
In our first year, the school community raised $30,000! This year the goal is $46,000, which represents a significant increase over last year. However, it can be reached and exceeded with the help of dynamic community members like you.
No gift is too small — we are aiming for 100% community participation!
Families may donate online at https://umcs.nationbuilder.com/donate or by cash or check, delivered to our school office or to the Annual Campaign volunteers at the table in the hallway after school from December 2 until Dec 21.
Options are available to pledge to pay over time, and the school will make an automatic draft from your bank account or debit/credit card.
Donations received by December 31, 2013 can be applied as a 2013 tax deduction.
Your support does not have to end with your donation; please share the UMCS website link above with your friends, family and networks.
Thank you in advance for your commitment to UMCS and for your participation in this "direct ask" for your contribution to the 2013 Annual Fund.
Together we can achieve great things!
