Musical Theater Class for 4th-8th Grade- Registration Now Open

Registration for the upper level winter session Musical Theater program is open! The 4th-8th grade students will perform Shrek Jr., the Musical in its entirety on April 28th. This will be a full length production full of singing, dancing, and your children showing off their acting chops. Classes will be on Wednesdays from 4:45 to 5:45.

You can Register here.  Pricing for the 12 week program which includes costumes and t-shirts is as follows: $350 for drama only students $300 for after school program participants and free for those who qualify. Fee information for ELO-P is here. In order for your student(s) to attend for no cost or reduced cost, please complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals. Return the application to [email protected], or drop off/mail to the school. If your child is an English Learner or if you would like to register a foster or homeless child, they may attend for free. Families who do not complete the Application for Free and Reduced-Price Meals, or who do not qualify, will pay full price. We provide a snack for all participating students, and you are welcome to send a snack with your student(s) if you prefer.


Additional Details:

  • Please let your children and their teachers know if they are staying after school, especially TK & K students.
  • Pick up:
    • Please pick up at the Mango gate. It will be locked, so please call (510) 225-9075 when you arrive or are on your way to pick up and we will bring your child/children to the gate.
    • Please pick up by 6 pm or you will be charged $1 for every minute you are late.
    • Please sign up for the "Sandbox Parent Portal" and create a 4-digit pin number to be used to sign out. Note, if you have not yet registered on the Sandbox Parent Portal, your child may still attend the program.
  • Invoices:
    • Invoices are sent from the Sandbox Parent Portal. Please register on the Sandbox Parent Portal to choose a payment method and pay invoices.
    • There is a $65 registration fee that must be paid prior to the first day of program. Invoices for the registration fee will be sent digitally through the Sandbox Parent Portal.
    • Monthly invoices will come at the end of the month and will be due by the 15th of the following month. Unpaid invoices after the 15th incur a 10% late fee.
    • Families on the 3 days per week plan who consistently attend more than 3 days per week, will be asked to change to the 5 days per week plan.
    • Drama and Chess will require an extra fee unless your family qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. If your student(s) only want to attend these classes and not the after school program, the fee will be slightly higher. Chess sessions are 9-10 weeks long. The price will be $180 for 9 weeks or 10 weeks total, NOT per week, $230 for students who will only attend chess and do not attend the after school program. Free for those who qualify.
